With more than 220 member companies, EDANA (www.edana.org) is a dynamic international trade association, which represents the common interests of nonwovens and their related industries in over 30 countries in Europe, Middle East, Africa and beyond. EDANA’s aim is to provide leadership through dialogue with stakeholders and the active promotion of sustainable development,consumer interests and transparency. Nonwoven fabrics are used in a diverse range of applications ranging from absorbent hygiene products, wipes and medical equipment to automotive interiors, filtration and civil engineering/building. EDANA needs to generate a clear understanding of sustainability issues and opportunities within the sector, and to ensure that they are addressed at both European and national government level. SUSTAINABILITY AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS MANAGER

Your function:
• As Sustainability and Public Affairs Manager you will be responsible for managing the association’s sustainability and EU public affairs activities.
• In coordination with the board and the member companies you shape
EDANA’s sustainability strategy.
• You will lead and coordinate projects and information with a network of professional committees. Your scientific approach enables you to monitor relevant sources of information and assess potential impact on industry.
• You act as a coordinator between the association and external consultants/experts and will be reporting for internal and external dissemination.
• As a strong networker you will be lobbying as appropriate and establish and strengthen long term relations with key stakeholders.
• You will report to the General Manager.

Your profile:
• You hold a degree in science, economics, law or other relevant background.
• Ideally, you can look back on more than 5 years relevant industry, governmental and/or association experience, preferably in a European environment.
• You have knowledge of the environmental legislation and sustainability policies and debates, and good understanding of the EU legislative framework and decision-making process.
• You are experienced in communicating effectively with a variety of audiences and you have disseminating skills in English.
• On top of this, you have the knowledge of at least one other EU language.
• You are a self-starter, able to work on own initiative as well as within the dynamic EDANA team.
