Job Offer - Managing Director - COB
COB is looking for a Managing Director.
The Managing Director (MD) will lead the international association in achieving its mission and strategic goals. The MD is responsible for the overall management, leadership, and operational excellence of the organisation, serving as the key liaison between the COB Members, the Supervisory Board, the Secretariat team and external stakeholders. The MD reports to the Supervisory Board.
Ideal starting date: March 2026
Tasks
• Cultivate, develop and execute the strategy in line with the association’s mission statement. Coordinate the activities and cooperation between National Bureaux, Compensation Bodies, Guarantee Funds and Information Centres.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of currently 15 persons, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance and effectiveness in all business processes.
• Manage the association’s budget, financial performance, and resource allocation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Members and key stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications
• At least five years leadership experience (preferably within the motor third party liability insurance business).
• Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
• Sound experience in financial management.
• Affinity with legal matters.
• Interest in and understanding of the geopolitical and economic conditions, opportunities and risks. Ability to navigate cross-cultural dynamics.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong affinity with digital transformation
• Fluency in English. Knowledge of other EU languages is a plus.

In order to represent the association, the MD will be required to travel frequently, mainly in Europe.
